Espadrij l'originale® is a European company with headquarters in Düsseldorf. From there we not only develop
new designs, but also cover the areas of sales, logistics, PR and marketing in-house. Your order is also packed here and sent on its way to you, because everything we do, we do with love.
We stand for high-quality espadrilles and premium summer accessories made in Europe. Together, we create a world that unites traditional craftsmanship with modern aesthetics. We always embrace the laid-back, southern French spirit for a harmonious interplay of comfort, style, and craftsmanship.
We gather our inspiration on our travels: whether near or far, we are always looking for new ideas that are in harmony with our roots. It is important to us to produce as sustainably as possible and with short transport routes. Therefore, we also source our fabrics locally whenever possible.
Our story.
In the 80s, there was hardly anyone who didn't have at least one pair of the light canvas shoes with plant-based soles and rubber coverings in their shoe closet. After their heyday, they went quiet for a long time. Espadrij l'originale is bringing back the original espadrilles. While most models on the market today are inferior, poorly manufactured products, Espadrij l'originale offers tried and tested, original quality.
Quality over quantity.
Espadrij l'originale brings the classic back to the pavement. Authentic, just like it used to be. All models are handcrafted or made using vintage machinery in French and Spanish espadrille workshops. The hallmark: a high-quality, durable canvas fabric and a thick, robust jute sole coated with water-repellent natural rubber. Only at Espadrij l'originale.

Espadrij l'originale sees itself as an exquisite label. That is why we offer a small but fine collection that is carefully enhanced every season with new colors and carefully selected styles. Back to the roots.
The models are manufactured according to old tradition in original production facilities. The result: natural materials and an unmistakable look. Since 2012, Espadrij l'originale has also had the women's models produced in Spain - the second country besides France in which the espadrilles culture is deeply rooted and has a long tradition.
Our claim.
The manufacturing method, based on old traditions, rules out mass production from the outset. And because Espadrij l'originale is not a mass product, Espadrij l'originale appeals to people who appreciate precisely that and the high quality.
