Keep your shoes dry, as the jute sole takes time to dry and could absorb unpleasant odors. If they do get wet, dry them quickly, whether in the sun or on a radiator. Machine washing? No thanks!
For dust or sand stains, a cleaning brush with stiff bristles will help – simply brush, tap, or vacuum. Stubborn stains (like ice) can be removed with a damp cloth and a little soap. Then allow it to dry quickly.
Before wearing for the first time and after every cleaning, it's essential to waterproof the garment! You can find suitable sprays in specialist shops.
suede
Avoid water and moisture, as they will leave water stains and make the shoes look worn. Waterproof them before first use to keep them looking good for longer.
Ideally, remove surface dirt with a suede brush, which you can find in shoe stores or in our Espadrij Care Set. Always brush in the direction of the leather's grain!
For stubborn stains, treat with a damp cloth, always covering the entire surface to avoid water spots. After cleaning, stuff with paper to help the shoes retain their shape.

Smooth leather espadrilles can be wiped with a damp cloth. However, do not let the sole get wet. Afterwards, treat them with a standard leather care cream or waterproofing spray – et voilà!
If you follow these tips, your espadrilles will look très chic not only the first time you wear them, but also in subsequent seasons.
