Upper & Insole: Suede
Our suede is characterized by its softly brushed, velvety surface and a particularly supple feel. The fine napped leather adapts flexibly to the foot and provides a comfortably natural wearing sensation. Its subtle, matte surface gives our styles a timelessly high-quality look.
Sole: Cork, Jute, EVA
The natural raw material cork, harvested from the cork oak, is defined by its lightness and elasticity. The material adapts individually to the foot's shape, thus supporting an ergonomic posture while walking. At the same time, its shock-absorbing effect ensures a comfortable walking experience, while its high insulating capacity offers additional comfort – ideal for long-lasting well-being in everyday life.
Jute is a natural plant fiber with a characteristically coarse, slightly textured surface. Our braided jute sole gives each style a special, authentic charm. As a natural product, it makes every shoe a little unique – small differences in appearance and structure are entirely natural. A layer of water-repellent natural rubber covers the jute sole, providing additional protection and durability.
EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate) is a particularly lightweight and flexible material known for its excellent cushioning properties. It gently absorbs every step, evens out uneven surfaces, and thus ensures a consistently comfortable wearing sensation. Furthermore, EVA is water-repellent, easy to care for, and simple to clean – perfect for everyday use.

In the 80s, there was hardly anyone who didn't have at least one pair of the light canvas shoes with plant soles and rubber coverings in their shoe closet. After their heyday, they went quiet for a long time. Espadrij l'originale brings back the original espadrilles. While most models on the market today are inferior, poorly manufactured products, Espadrij l'originale offers tried and tested, original quality.

Espadrij l'originale works exclusively with the last remaining manufacturers in France who still manufacture in the traditional way. The result: an unmistakable look and the highest quality that excludes mass-produced goods.
With every one of our products, the guiding principle is to act with respect for people and nature. That's why we consciously choose natural and sustainable materials that reflect our values. We take this approach with our packaging as well: it's made from recycled, FSC-certified material. In our workshops, not only are the working conditions fair, but the employees also receive above-average pay, which we regularly verify on-site.
